Operations Manager
Rotherham
Full Time Permanent.
Salary up to £53,760.13 per annum + £4,000 car allowance
42.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday
We are the largest provider of repairs and maintenance, and regeneration services across the UK. Mears provide tailored rapid-response and planned maintenance services through partnering arrangements with more than 70 local authorities, Arm’s Length Management Organisations and Housing Associations.
About the role
As an Operations Manager your role involves overseeing the day-to-day management of contract service delivery, including reactive, planned, statutory, and non-statutory repairs and refurbishment activities, ensuring high standards and excellent customer service. You will manage all aspects of operational and commercial delivery, ensuring compliance with contractual commitments, company protocols, and budget constraints. Health and safety compliance is a key part of your role, as is managing direct resources and the supply chain to improve productivity and achieve cost savings. You adhere to company and client reporting protocols, promote a customer-focused culture, and ensure high levels of satisfaction with performance delivery. Additionally, you manage employee performance, coach, and develop staff, and ensure adherence to HR policies and procedures. Building strong relationships with clients, service users, and local communities is essential, as is assisting in business development activities and preparing bids. You also provide support to other managers and attend company and client meetings as required.
Key Criteria:
* Proven track record of capital / programmed works management & delivery.
* Proven track record of commercial responsibility and performance management.
* Proven track record of managing multiple sites & contracts.
* Health and Safety including completion of Construction Phase Plans.
* Health & safety knowledge, including COSHH.
* People management with ability to lead & mentor others.
* Problem solving & results orientated.
* Planning and organisational.
* Decisive decision making.
* Ability to negotiate and influence.
* IT literate with confident oral and written communication skills.
* UK Full driving licence
All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.
To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
