We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Class Teaching Assistant to join our ambitious and supportive Upper KS2 Team (Years 5 & 6).

Thameside Primary School is looking to recruit a Year 5/6 Class Teaching Assistant who will:
• Provide classroom support and intervention to individuals and small groups of children
• Assist in the preparation of resources and equipment to support children's learning
• Provide cover for Teacher, to cover PPA time
• Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to ensure the needs of all children are met
• Develop positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
• Contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school
• Have experience working with children with special educational needs
• Have a strong understanding of effective SEND practises and a willingness to continuously develop your skills
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Use patience, empathy, and have a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
• Keeping children safe in their surroundings and activities they engage in including dealing with first aid incidents
• Supervising children on the playground at break times and during lunchtimes
• Work collaboratively as part of a team and have a sense of humour!

We are seeking candidates that have:
• You must have classroom experience with a desire to work with KS2 children age 9-11.
• A good standard of English and Maths is essential Grade A-C or equivalent
• An ability to work with a team and diverse staff/pupil groups
• Effective interpersonal and communications skills
• Exceptional, highly motivated and hard-working
• Patience and resilience to work with young people, some with challenging needs
