Payroll Team Lead Location: Stockton-on-Tees Salary: £38,000 – £45,000JGA Recruitment is proud to partner with a respected international organisation in the search for a Payroll & HR Team Lead to join their HR function. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned payroll professional with leadership experience to step into a varied role spanning payroll, benefits, HR administration, and process optimisation. Key Responsibilities: Lead a team delivering accurate and efficient payroll, benefits, and HR administration services across multiple regions. Ensure timely and compliant payroll processing in line with internal policies and statutory regulations. Oversee payroll vendor relationships and HR systems to maintain high service standards. Support general ledger reconciliations and address payroll-related accounting queries. Drive process improvements to enhance payroll and HR operations. Manage onboarding processes, HR transactions, and company fleet administration. Play an active role in both global and local HR projects, including compliance initiatives. Skills & Experience: Strong background in UK payroll processing and compliance. Demonstrated experience leading teams within a shared service or HR/payroll environment. Exposure to European payroll operations is a plus. Experience with payroll-related accounting and general ledger reconciliation (preferred). Familiarity with HR and payroll systems – experience with Workday and Resourcelink is advantageous. Proven ability to manage outsourced payroll vendors. Advanced Excel skills and strong IT literacy.
