Alcohols Limited is a chemical distributor which was formed in 1955 as a subsidiary of The Palmer Group. It is a private family company founded in 1805 which is still family owned today.
This role will be based on site at our new £23m facility in Rugby based at the Europark just off the A5 which has recently opened. (A5 Watling Street, Clifton upon Dunsmore, Rugby Warwickshire. CV23 0AJ). The site will also house a new distillery allowing us to add capacity to our current heritage site in Birmingham which will be retained.
The Opportunity
The role is responsible for leading, developing and managing a small team of Sales Co-ordinators, setting high performance standards for the team in order to deliver exceptional customer service and achieve business goals.
What you will contribute
* Manage and support the Sales Co-ordinators in their day to day work.
* Set and track goals & objectives for the team that are linked to business needs and personal development.
* Ensure Sales Co-ordinators proactively follow up all new enquires and quotations.
* Organise training for the Sales Co-ordinators, utilising our internal resources and external options where applicable.
* Motivate the team to continuously supply excellent customer service, going the extra mile.
* Use customer feedback to implement improvements in the sales administration process.
* Build an open-communication environment for your team.
* Work with the Regional Business Managers to strengthen the commercial team, supporting and nurturing the Sales Co-ordinators to help them provide an excellent service for the Area Sales Managers.
* Ensure the relationship between internal sales and other departments is maintained and strong – particularly working closely with operations, accounts and technical.
* Provide support for customer complaints and incident reports; ensuring they are managed and completed in accordance with our internal procedures.
* Responsible for managing a set number of customer accounts.
What you will bring
* Educated to degree level or equivalent with significant experience in a sales and customer service ideally within a chemical supply chain, with customer/supplier interfacing
* Prior experience of managing people is desirable.
* An inclusive communication style to motivate and deliver clear, effective messages both internally and externally.
* An ability to recognise what motivates individuals in order to get the best out of them.
* Able to practice attentive, active listening and has the patience to hear people out, even when they disagree, to enable a balanced, objective discussion.
* Demonstrable organisational awareness to know how to get things done and personal commitment to driving the business forward.
* Quality conscious and innovative with a positive, strong, motivated, management style.
* Practical/proactive problem solver and flexible to support a dynamic, customer driven business.
* Tenacious, thorough, determined, energetic and driven with attention to detail.
* IT literate (curiosity to best leverage a new CRM system).
