Teaching Assistant - Supporting Students with Special Educational Needs and SEMH Location: Liverpool Contract: Full-Time An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive secondary school catering to students with special educational needs and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. The school provides tailored support to students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) who have struggled to thrive in mainstream settings. The successful candidate will work closely with students who may find it difficult to engage in their learning and sometimes struggle to regulate their emotions. Some students may display challenging behaviour, requiring an understanding and patient approach to help them overcome barriers to education. The ideal candidate will: Be nurturing, resilient, and passionate about supporting young people. Demonstrate a strong ability to build trust and positive relationships with students. Have the skills to provide guidance and support to help students manage their emotions effectively. Be able to create a safe, inclusive environment that encourages learning and personal growth. Experience working with children with SEN, SEMH, or in alternative provisions is desirable but not essential.
