Your responsibilities
will include to:
1. Competently, prepare, design, deliver, manage, and evaluate personal training programmes, group fitness and hospital-wide exercise sessions.
2. Complete PARQ (Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire) assessments and risk assessments.
3. Demonstrate a clear understanding and be able to educate others on the anatomy and physiology and its relation to exercise and health.
4. Educate service users on nutrition and physical activity and health.
5. Carry out audits and service maintenance on the gym and fitness equipment.
6. Work collaboratively with members of the OT department and other disciplines.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
7. Previous fitness instruction experience
8. Knowledge of mental health
9. Completion of the relevant ‘Personal trainer education’
10. Previous experience in designing and delivering personal training programmes
11. Some knowledge of nutrition/healthy eating
12. Experience of working in a mental health setting is not essential
13. Knowledge of mental health conditions and how they can impact motivation is crucial
