Job Title: Data Centre Engineer
Job Type: Full-time / Permanent
To manage, maintain, and support data center operations, ensuring the availability, security, and optimal performance of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking equipment, and power/cooling systems.
Hardware Installation & Maintenance
Install, configure, and maintain servers, storage devices, and network equipment.
Network & Connectivity
Support network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting
Continuously monitor system performance and address hardware/software issues.
Use diagnostic tools to analyze network traffic, server logs, and storage performance.
Ensure physical and cybersecurity best practices are followed.
Maintain compliance with industry standards (ISO, ITIL, GDPR, etc.).
Work with facilities teams to prevent downtime due to environmental factors.
Maintain records of hardware/software inventory, incidents, and maintenance schedules.
Work closely with IT teams, vendors, and service providers.
Experience in data center operations, IT infrastructure, or network engineering.
Strong understanding of server hardware (Dell, HP, IBM, etc.).
Knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, DNS, DHCP).
Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, SolarWinds, PRTG, etc.).
Troubleshooting skills in Windows/Linux environments.
ECS/CSCS
Certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Server+, AWS, Azure, ITIL).
Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Knowledge of automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (preferred).
Shift work and on-call availability may be required.
Physical work, including moving equipment and cabling.
Working in a temperature-controlled data center environment.
