We are looking for a passionate, skilled and highly motivated Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join the Exeter Outer Core Community Mental Health Team. Successful applicants will be innovative and compassionate clinicians, who are motivated to deliver individualised, person-centred care and make a positive contribution to service development. You will be an experienced mental health professional (Registered Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist) who has a genuine interest in collaborative working with people of varying ages and complex needs, including service users, their carers and families.
You will join a rich multi-disciplinary team which includes Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Psychiatrists and Support Workers. We are forming closer working relationships with colleagues in Primary Care and the Voluntary Sector.

Main duties of the job
With training and support, you will feel confident in delivering therapeutic interventions and liaising with other professionals regarding progress and outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and embed leadership and management skills. You can provide supervision as part of this role, as well as supporting the team manager with other operational management tasks.
As a core member of the team, you will be responsible for your own caseload and provide assessment, case management, and deliver interventions for people with a wide range of needs. You will ensure that the service users' recovery goals are central to their care plan and promote social inclusion, independence, and wellbeing. You will demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills and be able to work collaboratively with a range of statutory and third-sector agencies.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* A professional mental health qualification eg RMN, Social Work Degree or equivalent, BSc/Diploma in OT, SROT, Chartered Clinical Psychologist, ENB 811/812 or CPN Degree.
* Post graduate qualification relevant to specialism.
* Training to level 3 in Safeguarding children and young people: roles and competencies for Health Care staff.
Experience
* An understanding of the NSF and Mental Health Act/Mental Health Capacity Act requirements.
* An understanding of the Personalised Care Framework and the Community Mental Health Framework.
* Substantial experience of managing an extensive and complex caseload of clients with a range of complex mental health problems.
* Working within a community mental health setting in either the statutory or voluntary sector.
* Providing clinical supervision.
* Mentoring students in line with professional requirements.
* Awareness of community structures and social care management responsibilities.
* Understanding of recovery principles and trauma-informed care in mental health.
* Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment.
* Participation in user involvement in services.
* Experience of delivering model-based psychological therapy.
