The school specialises in delivering exceptional education and care for students aged 10-19 with complex needs, including Asperger's Syndrome and Autism. They are currently seeking a Level 1-2 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in the academic and personal development of the students. You will support their learning and well-being, helping them reach their full potential in a nurturing and secure environment. You will establish warm, supportive relationships with the pupils, fostering a safe and engaging learning atmosphere. You will assist the class teacher in providing high-quality, challenging, and differentiated educational experiences, enabling every student to excel.
Assist in planning and evaluating learning activities.
Help monitor, assess, record, and report on pupils' progress in line with school policies.
Flexibility and willingness to assist where needed in the dynamic SEN environment.
Experience in an SEN role, either employed or voluntary.
Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle (essential for student carpooling on a rota basis).
Recognised Level 2 or higher qualification in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools (desirable).
GCSE Maths and English Level 2/C or above (essential).
Knowledge of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
Experience with pupils with SEN or SEMH/ASD.

Successful applicants will undergo pre-employment safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check.
