Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical Fellow to join the established and innovative Dermatology team at Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will work with the existing MDT. The post holder will maintain an active clinical role as a member of the dermatology body delivering excellent dermatology care for the region.
In 2015, Chelsea & Westminster Hospital merged with West Middlesex University Hospital to form one Trust. The dermatology department is now split across two sites with our doctors working across both hospitals.
As a leading London teaching hospital, the department sees a wide spectrum of acute and chronic dermatological conditions and runs an ‘acute dermatology service’. Several specialist clinics are held on-site, e.g. skin cancer, paediatric, vulval, penile, HIV, and biologic therapy. The hospital is also leading in Teledermatology and the use of AI software for suspected skin cancer across North West London.
The position involves inpatient and outpatient care as well as supervision of patients in our Day Care unit.
The successful candidate will possess a recognised Medical degree, MRCP and have at least 2 years Dermatology experience. It is a condition of appointment that staff are satisfactorily health cleared prior to commencing work.
Main duties of the job
All Clinical Fellows contribute to an acute on-call rota (0900-1700, Monday - Friday). The requirement will be 1:5 and clinical activity will be adjusted accordingly. There is no out of hours requirement of this role however in cases of absence in the team it may be required for the post holder to support.
Roles and Responsibilities of the post
This post will be based at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital sites. An opportunity for a doctor to develop experience and training in the full range of general dermatology specialties with the opportunity to participate in clinics across the range skills needed to achieve complete dermatology training to consultant level. The candidate will have the opportunity to participate in general dermatology, day-care patient reviews, ward referrals and dermatology inpatients. We offer all the specialist clinics mentioned above and there will be opportunities for the post holder to participate in these on an ad hoc basis.
