Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Location: North West England, Lancashire, Blackpool Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time hours Primary Industry: Education and Training Salary: £12.95 - £14.00 Per hour Job Duties: Provide support to students with special educational needs (SEN) in a classroom setting Assist the class teacher in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) for students Work one-on-one or in small groups with SEN students to reinforce learning concepts Help create a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students Support students with personal care if required Assist in maintaining accurate records of student progress and behaviour Required Qualifications: GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent) Experience working with children or young people with SEN Understanding of the UK education system Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively as part of a team Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting SEN students Preferred Qualifications: Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools Training in safeguarding and first aid Additional training in specific SEN areas (e.g., autism, dyslexia) Working Conditions: Work primarily within a school setting Full-time hours, temporary position Potential for personal care duties with students Collaboration with teachers, parents, and other support staff All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
