Campus Support Assistant (Entry level) Salary: £26,400 per annum Full time permanent role Hours: Monday-Thursday 11am - 7pm, Friday 11am - 6.30pm Reporting into the Campus Services Supervisor this job is a front of house role which involves a regular amount of contact with students and staff and other users of university premises. This will include working flexibly across a wide range of departments, predominantly on one site however they will be expected to travel to and between sites as the business needs dictate. Key responsibilities: - Undertaking works of minor maintenance e.g., taking down items from walls, dismantling and assembling furniture, adjusting clocks. Training will be provided so that all team members can competently undertake works of a minor maintenance nature. Supporting and covering the Goods Inwards department and post room - there will be times that cover will be required, or additional support provided at busy times. Full training will be provided. Supporting and covering for the Courier service Supporting Security department. e.g., unlocking and locking of doors. To undertake driving duties in Company vehicles. To check tyres, water, oil and cleanliness of organisations’ vehicles as per the Driving Policy To report the following to appropriate personnel: routine supply requirements, defects in building fabric and equipment and safety exposures To carry out cross site works using company vehicles as directed by the Campus Services Supervisor To be a campus Fire Marshal and participate in the emergency team procedures, as instructed. To undertake manual handling training and all other mandatory training as directed. To effectively use a two-way radio for team communication purposes and for relaying information. To wear appropriate uniform or other workwear provided and maintain it in a good condition. Adopt and use new technologies as introduces including the use of PDA’s for electronically logging, distributing and notification of completion of tasks. To undertake relevant training required for the role. Person Specification: - Physical fitness and ability to perform the allocated tasks. Smart appearance - uniform, including any protective workwear worn while on shift. Flexibility - able to change routines and adapt working practices. Initiative - able to work with little supervision and decide how best to deal with situations. Ability to work well in a team and individually. Strong Customer Service ethic Possession of a current and valid manual driving licence Ability to work well in a team and individually.
