This is a rewarding dual role that combines administrative skills using Docman, with direct patient contact as part of our front desk reception team. We are a large GP practice with a multi-skilled clinical team that works over four sites. Our sites are located in Bury town centre, Greenmount, Tottington and Radcliffe. We provide services to around 50,000 registered patients, which is a quarter of the population of Bury, and our patients can access services across all four of our sites. Job Responsibilities
Appropriately dealing with each document that comes into the surgery via multiple different pathways, receiving, assisting and directing patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way, always maintaining confidentiality. Responsibilities include:
1. Scanning documents
2. Clinical coding
3. Filing documents
4. Scheduling & cancelling appointments using the Emis system
5. Reception desk duties maintaining a friendly, professional and courteous manner
6. Ability to clear a large workload accurately and under pressure
7. Answering the telephone in a professional and friendly manner
8. Accurate message taking and conveying to the appropriate person via Emis & Docman10
9. Filing and accurate record keeping with attention to detail
10. Following practice policies and office procedures
11. Referral management and liaising with providers
12. Typing and notes summarising & read coding
13. Carrying out duties requested by the GP partners, Senior Leadership Team and practice team
14. Escalating problems to the appropriate member of staff where necessary
15. Any additional duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the practice
