Job summary We are looking to recruit into a and 7 Practitioner Psychologist role, there are opportunities for flexible working and part time working. This posts would be suited to a Practitioner Psychologist who has an interest in working in Clinical Health Psychology and working within physical healthcare services. There are opportunities to work within Bariatric Psychology team and Maternal Mental Health Services team. The MMHS team consists of a psychologist, psychological practitioner, and specialist midwife. The team work closely within maternity services and the perinatal mental health team. The team provides psychological support focussing on Trauma, Loss and Fear as well as helping develop trauma informed care within maternity services. The Bariatric team consist of psychologists, psychological practitioner and assistant psychologists. The service provides psychological assessment and intervention before and after weight loss surgery. The team works closely with other members of the bariatric MDT including specialist dieticians, specialist nurses and surgeons. Main duties of the job As a band 7 practitioner you will be provided with line management and one to one clinical supervision by an experienced and senior psychologist within the department and have access to CPD and the support of the wider department. We work closely with University of Sunderland colleagues and so there are opportunities for research and service evaluations. Psychology is a highly valued within STSFT and you will be supported to continue to develop within your career. This role is well suited to someone who has an interest in working within physical health services and working as part of a wider MDT. The post can be split across both MMHS and Bariatric Service, equally we would consider part time work or a job share. The role of a Band 7 practitioner will be diverse and there are opportunities to not only develop and consolidate core therapeutic clinical skills, but also develop skills and experience in devising and delivering training, providing consultation and supervision to MDT members. The post holder may have previous experiences of working within physical health services or with physical health conditions, but this is not essential.
