The Chief Executive Officer provides leadership for the efficient and effective operational and strategic management of YMCA Cornwall's activities, particularly housing of young people. They ensure the highest standards of conduct, performance, and accountability through the senior management team. The CEO works closely with the Board, especially the Chair, to translate strategies, business plans, and policy decisions into operational results. They also lead the senior management team, manage the staff, and represent YMCA Cornwall as appropriate. The CEO is responsible for the strategic leadership of YMCA Cornwall's Supported Housing, ensuring a compliant and high-standard service. They promote the organization, seek opportunities for its development and growth, and support the Housing Manager in developing relationships and inter-agency partnerships. The CEO ensures the continued financial stability and viability of YMCA Cornwall, maximizes value for money, and leads in the formulation, implementation, and monitoring of the business plan and budget. They also ensure that YMCA Cornwall is staffed by personnel with the abilities and standards necessary to deliver a quality customer service, promote and act in accordance with all of YMCA Cornwall's human resources policies, and ensure that training, induction, and staff development are maintained. The CEO is responsible for setting and monitoring standards of service provision, ensuring that appropriate action is taken where service quality falls below YMCA Cornwall's high standards. They review the provision of services to ensure that they reflect the needs of residents, developing plans to achieve change where necessary. The CEO promotes and acts in accordance with all of YMCA Cornwall's policies and procedures, and has primary responsibility for embedding a safeguarding culture throughout YMCA Cornwall. The post-holder is required to ensure the rules, regulations, and discipline of the YMCA are maintained for the benefit of users, members, residents, clients, and staff. The duties of the post may require some evening and/or weekend working, and the base of work will be Penzance, with travel throughout Cornwall and beyond required.
