We are seeking a proactive and skilled 2nd Line Engineer to join our IT team in Bolton. This role is essential for providing high-level technical support and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems. Provide comprehensive desktop support across Windows environments. Administer and troubleshoot Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and Group Policy. Utilize NinjaRMM for software deployment, patch management, and system updates. Support mobile device management through Intune for Android and iOS platforms. Ensure the seamless operation of Office 365 applications, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams. Assist with the arrangement of on-site connectivity for construction sites, including Wi-Fi setup and enabling printing capabilities. Apply a basic understanding of networking concepts to diagnose and resolve issues related to VLANs, firewalls, and VPNs (no configuration required). Maintain documentation for processes, troubleshooting steps, and configurations. Collaborate with the IT team to identify areas for improvement and implement proactive solutions. Have you got what it takes: Proven experience in a 2nd Line IT Support role or similar. Strong understanding of Active Directory, SCCM, NinjaRMM, Intune, and Office 365. Familiarity with Azure Active Directory and cloud-based identity management. Competence in supporting Android and iOS devices within an enterprise environment. Basic knowledge of networking concepts, including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, and VPNs (troubleshooting only). Experience supporting connectivity and technology on remote sites, including construction environments. Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to effectively support end-users. A team-oriented mindset with a willingness to share knowledge and collaborate. Preferred Certifications ITIL Foundation or similar framework. Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate).
