Data Protection DPIA Specialist

The successful candidate will have worked as a Data Protection DPIA Specialist within the housing sector.
We are seeking a Data Protection Specialist to join our team of expert Data Protection practitioners. This role involves providing specialist advice and guidance on privacy and data protection compliance matters, with a primary focus on completing complex Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and managing related projects. The successful candidate will also support our Data Protection Officer (DPO) and act as a subject matter expert within the team.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Act as the DPIA Lead on projects requiring Data Protection input, coordinating projects related to data protection and helping meet our Accountability requirements.
* Manage team input to the Data Protection Impact Assessment process, ensuring broad understanding and business buy-in, and that agreed mitigating actions are effectively deployed.
* Work independently and in partnership with members of the Data Protection Team on DPIAs, providing regular updates to the DPO and senior management, and escalating issues as required.
* Create and maintain project records to meet Accountability Requirements.
* Assist with the risk-based compliance programme, mapping out priority areas and allocating responsibilities.
* Take forward issues identified from day-to-day casework that may require further in-depth exploration/ownership to ensure compliance.
* Produce reports and KPIs to reflect workload and performance.
* Lead the team to ensure the service is responsive, high quality, and provides clear & consistent advice to colleagues internally and stakeholders externally.
* Support the Team Leaders in providing training and development and motivating the team to ensure an effective and efficient support service to the business.
* Provide cover for Team Leaders where required, which may include assisting with broader compliance activities such as breach management.
* Identify and deploy creative solutions to raise and maintain the profile of the team, ensuring business awareness and maximising opportunities to work cross-functionally to further assure privacy practices and policies are communicated and understood across the Group.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Proven experience in Data Protection and privacy compliance.
* Strong understanding of DPIA processes and data protection laws.
* Ability to lead and coordinate complex projects and assessments.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively across various departments.
* Ability to produce detailed reports and maintain accurate records.
* Creative problem-solving skills and ability to implement effective data protection strategies.
