The post holder will be a first level registered nurse with a Health Visiting Degree/Diploma/ Certificate and will work within the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
Main duties of the job
The Team Leader - Health Visiting will be responsible for the clinical and professional management of a designated multidisciplinary team, to ensure safe and effective care.
Overseeing the effective and efficient use of skills and resources you will ensure the integrated workforce are organised to meet the needs of local children and families in line with the Early Years Specification and other local and national standards.
You will be responsible for line managing the Health Visitor team on a daily basis to ensure the delivery of evidence based care and advice to children and families.
You will provide clinical leadership and support to Health Visitors through clinical supervision and by acting as an exemplar of clinical practice and quality standards.
You will engage effectively with key partners and the community to develop services that address the early year's high impact areas and the individual needs of children and families.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for the clinical and professional management of a team of Health Visitors within their allocated District and will provide clinical leadership and support to Health Visitors through clinical supervision and acting as a model of exemplar in terms of clinical practice and quality standards.

Qualifications Training Essential
1. 1st Degree or equivalent.
2. NMC 1st Level Registration

1. Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) within general management activities
2. Project management qualification (e.g. Prince) or equivalent experience.
Experience Essential
1. Evidence of excellent clinical and professional engagement.
2. Experience in preparation and use of complex IT and data systems, presenting complex written and verbal information to groups.
3. Significant experience and successful in-depth knowledge of staff management and the procedures and policies underpinning this
4. Experience in supporting management of change and service improvement; i.e. project management, process mapping and service redesign.
5. Evidence of successful development in a changing clinical and technological environment.
6. Knowledge of contracting, business planning and policy implementation.
7. Experience in managing a budget evidencing the relationship between service development and resource management.
