To maintain the high standard of hygiene and cleanliness found throughout our Gillingham based hospital, we have a need for another committed Housekeeper to help ensure the continued clean and fresh atmosphere our patients have come to expect.
Working in line with clearly defined standards which comply with national policies and company procedures, the Housekeeper will be responsible for providing a high standard of cleaning to clinical and non-clinical areas within the hospital, maintaining a day and time record of areas cleaned.
This is a permanent part-time position working 6pm to 10pm, 3 days per week between Monday and Saturday.
What you'll be doing
As a Housekeeper in our team at Practice Plus Group Hospital, Gillingham you’ll be responsible for providing a high standard of cleaning in both clinical and non-clinical areas, operating in compliance with corporate and local policies and procedures. While your prior experience in a similar role and knowledge of health and safety are important, so is your commitment to customer care, first-class service provision, and belief in teamwork.
1. Ensure that all areas of the centre are cleaned in accordance with the specification laid down for each room.
2. Mop, dust and damp wipe all surfaces as appropriate and clean internal glass areas.
3. Clean toilet areas including toilet pans, wash basins, floors and wiping walls as necessary.
4. Operate buffing/polishing/vacuum/carpet cleaning/laundry machinery in accordance with the training provided for each machine.
5. Maintain daily record of areas cleaned.
6. Report all items of faulty equipment to the supervisor and ensure their removal from service until repaired.
7. Maintain security of the centre whilst working.
8. Contribute generally to the establishment and development of a quality service.
What we’ll look for in you
We are looking for someone who is willing to work hard, learn and develop in the role, but most importantly someone who understands the value of teamwork and a good work ethic.
* A knowledge of Health & Safety.
* Basic knowledge of Health and Safety and COSHH regulations.
* The ability to receive and communicate information accurately and take instruction from professional colleagues.
* Someone with the flexibility to fit into an internal rotating shift pattern.
