Job Responsibilities Assess the technical and economic aspects of new renewable energy sites, including wind farms, solar installations, and hydro or marine power. Conduct site and ground condition inspections for new and existing sites. Use computer modelling software to produce detailed designs and energy production estimates. Ensure that the installation and operation of renewable energy sites comply with environmental laws. Prepare project plans, work schedules, and cost estimates. Manage the integration of renewable energy into existing systems. Test equipment and processes in a lab to ensure suitability for large-scale use. Liaise with energy providers, contractors, and other engineering and science professionals. Write and present technical reports.
