Job Description We're looking for an experienced veterinary surgeon to join our warm, sociable team, where collaboration and support are at the heart of what we do. As a truly mixed practice, we value work-life balance, giving you the chance to explore the nearby mountains, coast, and city. Our standard working hours are 8:45 AM to 5:00 PM, spread over a 4-day week, with 6.6 weeks of annual leave. We are proud to run our own out-of-hours service, with a 1:8 OOH rota (soon to increase). Routine hours are 8:45 AM to 6:00 PM, with two vets always on call—one as the primary responder and another for backup if needed. You'll be compensated with a 4-day long weekend after each on-call weekend, plus an additional long weekend mid-rota, and extra pay for every out-of-hours call. Our structured rota ensures a balanced mix of farm, equine, and small animal cases, with dedicated operating days to provide ample time to work up cases to a high standard. We offer 15-minute consults in manageable blocks, and hold weekly clinical meetings for case discussions, collaboration, or simply to catch up. Our experienced nursing team is supported by a full range of up-to-date equipment across all species, including equine and small animal video endoscopes, sector and linear ultrasound for farm and equine work, high-quality small animal ultrasound, digital x-ray (including dental and mobile for equine), and much more. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mixed practice (farm, equine, and small animal) and will have the opportunity to pursue any particular area of interest. CPD is strongly encouraged with a generous allowance, and professional fees and subscriptions are fully covered. A company car is available if needed.
