Garage Technician – Tyres
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Garage Technician – Tyres!
This a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to establish themselves within the heart of the race team; a team which has built a reputation as being amongst the most dynamic and forward thinking in the pit-lane.
The responsibilities of this highly specialised role will include all aspects of the wheel / tyre operation. This will involve the build of wheels, maintenance, lifing, reliability, tyre preparation and the safe transportation of the wheels and equipment.
You will be responsible for:
* Support the set up of trucks, garage and support equipment ensuring they are always maintained to the highest standards of reliability
* To ensure that all wheel rims are built to the correct specification as detailed in the event build specifications, reacting to faults, updating our fault and lifing systems plus stock control
* Building a professional relationship with the Car Engineer and working closely with the tyre suppliers to ensure that the best practices are adhered to during the preparation and running of the tyres
* Responsible for keeping up to date with working knowledge of the FIA rules concerning tyre allocation and usage
* To ensure that all instructions and procedures are followed with regard to packing and documentation of parts and equipment for flyaway events be they Air or Sea freight
* To communicate any faults and issues with the circuit staff. Asist with any trouble shooting to help solve any problems that may occur leading to a health and safety risk
* To attend European and flyaway races as required
Our ideal candidate will have:
* Minimum 3 years proven experience in a wheel/ tyre specialist role within a fast paced, motorsport environment
* Good understanding of FIA tyre regulations, lifing procedures and event logistics
* An unrelenting dedication to representing the team to the highest standards, fostering a can-do attitude and championing company values, culture and teamwork
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
* Willingness and able to travel extensively
* A valid HGV 1 drivers’ licence would be advantageous
