We are seeking an autonomous healthcare professional to join this dynamic specialist team at a very interesting time when fatigue management is high on the agenda following the Covid-19 pandemic.
Main Duties of the Job
* To effectively manage a diverse clinical caseload of adults and young people including those who are severely affected.
* To carry out specialist bio-psycho-social assessment and treatment of adults and young people with Post COVID-19 condition (Long Covid) or ME/CFS that include physical, mental and emotional aspects.
* To be competent in history taking and the use of appropriate assessment tools within agreed national and current research guidelines.
* To implement a range of specialist therapeutic interventions for patients and their relatives/carers, through individual and/or group sessions, that facilitates and supports a culture that enables patients to develop self-management skills to improve health outcomes.
* To communicate complex and challenging information in a clinically skilled and sensitive manner ensuring that it is presented in an understandable format to clients, carers and other professionals involved.
* To develop collaborative person-centred goals and plans with the adult/young person, and to evaluate and modify management plans in response to their changing needs.
* To support adults and young people to return to work/education, facilitating a graded return according to their individual needs, liaising with the workplace/education establishment, attending meetings, and providing reviews and reports, as required.

Job Responsibilities
You will be an experienced clinician who has an understanding of ME/CFS, Post COVID-19 condition or fatigue management approaches and is enthusiastic about working in this specialist area.
The service is integrated with the Post Covid Assessment Clinic at the Churchill Hospital and the Post Covid Rehabilitation Team, working closely with specialist respiratory physiotherapists and Oxfordshire Talking Therapies. It provides groups and 121 sessions. From an ME/CFS perspective the service provides diagnosis, management advice, education and rehabilitation for adults and young people (from age 14) with ME/CFS, both individually and in groups.
The successful applicant will be required to manage their own case load, providing clinical expertise for people with Post COVID-19 condition and/or ME/CFS.
The service is based at Windrush House, Witney, but other bases could potentially be negotiated across Oxfordshire. However, as the service is countywide, some travel will be required.
(*The post is substantive and full time until the end of March 2025 through NHSE funding. Discussions are currently under way at ICB level to explore the future service pathways for these patient populations and is hoped that the service will continue after this date. However, alternative employment options within the Trust may be explored from April 2025. Flexible working applications will be welcomed please call for clarification.)
