We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person with good interpersonal and organisational skills to work in our busy Aseptic unit within the pharmacy department at The Leicester Royal Infirmary. The successful candidate will require excellent communication skills and enjoy both an individual challenge and working as part of a friendly, dynamic team.
You must be a professional, registered Pharmacy Technician and hold the NVQ level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent and have significant post qualification experience in an aseptic or production unit environment.
You will be working closely with the Team Leader, Principal Pharmacy Technician and Accountable Pharmacist to ensure all activities within the unit are carried out within the guidelines and standards for Good Manufacturing practice.
Main duties of the job
* The main duties will involve undertaking general aseptic service duties that include preparation of medicines, assembling and transferring drugs and consumables into the aseptic service clean rooms following standard operating procedures.
* Participating in documentation creation on software systems, conducting cleaning of aseptic rooms and associated equipment.
* Supporting the stock maintenance service, ensuring that sufficient quantities of drugs and consumables are ordered.
Job responsibilities
Your duties will include:
* Aseptic preparation of products.
* Working within a clean room environment.
* Preparation and checking of documentation.
* Environmental monitoring and stock control.
* You will co-ordinate medicines supply activity at departmental level to ensure the patients' whole treatment is supplied as one complete package.
* You will be leading the team ensuring that all work is completed in compliance with standard operating procedures and by the deadlines assigned.
