Salaried Instrumental Music Teacher and Leader (IMTL)
Pay range for qualified teachers, full time equivalent salary £36k - £48k.
IMTL staff also lead our whole class programmes and centre groups for a substantial period of their time.
We require a Woodwind (including Clarinet and Saxophone) specialist. It will be an advantage to be able to lead first access classes in drama and/or keyboard. Initially, this role will be 0.2 fte with the opportunity to increase this amount depending on Service need.
Career Progression
The starting salary is based on qualifications and experience. Staff are supported through appraisal to reach the top of the scale through annual increments.
Sessional teaching may start with a few hours according to the teacher’s availability. Many of our sessional teachers have progressed to salaried IMTL posts.
There is a minimum hours commitment for IMTL posts which will include work at our Saturday morning and/or weekday evening centres.
An IMTL can reach the top of the scale for qualified teachers whether they have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or not.
An IMTL who has, or obtains, QTS can also apply to be paid on the Upper Pay Range, up to a full time equivalent salary of £53k.
From time to time, posts with additional allowances also become available.
