Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated, solutions-driven individual with a proven track record in materials purchasing and supplier management. The ideal candidate will have experience in process improvement within an Excel/MRP/ERP environment and will work effectively across cross-functional teams. You should possess purchasing experience and knowledge and have exceptional communication skills to interact seamlessly at all levels of the business. Strong organizational and time management abilities are essential.
You'll work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to align procurement activities with the production schedule, ensuring lead times meet organizational goals. Success in this role requires strong negotiation skills, proactive supplier management, and effective communication to integrate procurement with overall business objectives.
Ability to hold Security Clearance – 5 years residence in the UK
Responsibilities:
* Source and purchase materials and components for manufacturing, ensuring alignment with production schedules and organizational goals.
* Monitor inventory levels and place orders to prevent stockouts while avoiding overstocking.
* Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with suppliers to meet quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
* Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure the best value for the organization.
* Implement process improvement initiatives within the purchasing function, utilizing Excel, MRP, and ERP systems.
* Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to align procurement with production schedules and quality standards.

* Experienced in materials purchasing and procurement.
* Skilled in procurement practices: sourcing, negotiation, contract management.
* Proficient with Excel for procurement and inventory forecasting.
* Effective at process improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
