About the Role
As a Registered Nurse or ODP in our Maternity Theatres team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standard of care for women undergoing clinical or peri-operative procedures. You will be responsible for:
* Scrubbing for elective and emergency maternity theatre cases.
* Providing compassionate, post-operative care to women.
* Collaborating with the Department Manager, Matron, and a multi-disciplinary team to maintain the highest standards of care.

Person specification
Qualifications / Training
* Registered Nurse or Registered ODP
* Must be willing to undertake relevant post-registration courses as advised by the Practice Educators/ Theatre Team Leaders
* ILS/ALS
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Evidence of mentorship & preceptorship training
* Advanced Life support certificate
Previous Experience
* Post qualification experience within the perioperative setting
* Relevant experience in either an inpatient or day surgery theatre, maternity theatre, or other relevant clinical area
* Peri-operative practice, skilled in recovery and scrub
* Experience of providing clinical support outside of the theatre area
Skills
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Basic IT skills
* Can organise and prioritise
* Ability to demonstrate initiative
* Flexible
* Clear written and spoken English
* Can perform in the role of scrub and circulating assistant, recovery person, or has relevant experience within a critical/acute care setting.
* Has relevant experience within maternity or gynaecology surgery
Knowledge
* Aware of the National 6 Cs campaign
* Aware of Trust’s Values
* An understanding of peri-operative patient care
* Understanding of aseptic technique and the work involved in caring for women in theatre
