Lead Commissioning Manager
Location: London
Salary: from £72,000, up to 20% bonus, family health cover and car allowance.

The Lead Commissioning Manager is a key role within the project commissioning. Their primary responsibility is to assist the project commissioning manager with his responsibilities, focusing on the Tender preparation, documentation, definition of strategy, Windfarm and Grid (onshore/offshore substations and export cable) commissioning.
What you’ll be doing:
1. Managing the commissioning process for the project and the individual packages during all stages from the procurement phase until handover to operation and maintenance (O&M).
2. Supporting the different packages’ tender processes from a commissioning perspective, aligning departmental/business technical specifications to the project specific configuration, and evaluating vendors’ proposals in terms of technical compliance.
3. Overseeing, through the commissioning service, all the packages’ commissioning works assuring compliance with the Employer’s Requirements and focusing on electrical safety, technical due diligence, commissioning readiness and delivery and grid compliance.
4. Procuring the commissioning oversight and electrical safety services for the project and directing the commissioning services contractors, and managing changes to scope, cost and schedule of the commissioning services.
5. Ensuring coordination between the company (SPR / Iberdrola), different contractors and transmission and distribution system operators, regarding commissioning, electrical safety and operational control of the offshore windfarm and associated assets.
6. Developing and maintaining the commissioning process and procedures, including the Project Commissioning Plan and Packages Commissioning Manuals.
7. Implementing the SPR Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules (EMSR) in the project, managing all aspects of Electrical Safety and supporting general safety in the project.
8. Providing guidance and ensuring compliance with local legislations and regulations with respect to commissioning activities.
9. Acting on behalf of the company (SPR / Iberdrola), where requested, as nominated contact point with the transmission and distribution system operator for operational control.
10. Reviewing and approving the final commissioning as-built documentation.
11. Supporting H&S in the management and implementation of general safety.
12. Reporting to the project management and business as the project and business dictates.
What you’ll bring:
1. Master of Engineering (MEng) or equivalent. Preferable in Electrical Engineering.
2. Track record of delivery in the renewable sector and/or within transmission and distribution industry, including technical due diligence, grid connection concept, and ideally with experience in construction, commissioning, and operations of offshore wind project(s).
3. Strong experience in project management, including planning, budget management, risks and opportunities management and delivery.
4. IT literate with the ability to operate MS Office systems and other project software.
5. Flexible to travel regularly to attend meetings and work at different project sites.
6. Strong networking, communication, relationship building and influencing skills demonstrated across a range of teams, stakeholders and with senior leadership.
7. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, to adapt quickly to a rapidly changing working environment and to demonstrate a positive approach to change.
