Our client is a highly regarded manufacturing company based near Carlisle, employing 150 staff and a turnover of approximately £50 million. The company takes great pride in producing premium products for their established customer base. We are currently recruiting a talented Assistant Finance Business Partner to support the Finance Business Partner with the preparation of monthly management accounts and sales data to the wider business.
The role requires an accurate, forward-thinking person to ensure the finance department is performing to a world-class standard.
Your new role
Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, typical duties of this role include:
* Assist in preparing an accurate set of Management Accounts on a monthly basis, working to a 5-day deadline.
* Assist in ensuring the monthly accounts and notes are accurately reported.
* Posting journals during month end.
* Agree and reconcile intercompany balances each month.
* Assist in the production of the annual budget and liaise with relevant managers.
* Stock – Assist in stock management and forecasting.
* Product Costings – Ensure products are costed accurately.
* Work with Operations / Commercial to review/ amend BOMs.
* Ensure financial compliance and governance, review procedures and make improvements where necessary.
* Look at new ways to automate and simplify processes.
* Assist in Balance Sheet reconciliations.
* Ensure the Stock counts are accurate.
* Assist the Finance Business Partner in their duties where possible.
* Assist the accounts payable team when required (holiday cover if needed).
What you'll need to succeed
* Part Qualified AAT – working towards a full professional qualification.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Able to work as part of a team, under pressure and to tight deadlines.
* Good communication skills, both written and spoken.
* Strong numerical and analytical skills.
* Excellent Excel skills.
* Strong organisational skills.
* Ability to plan ahead and prioritise key tasks.
* Methodical approach to work.
What you'll get in return
Salary up to £30,000 dependent on experience.
40hr week (08:30 – 17:00) – 30 mins lunch.
Hybrid working after probation period.
Further study support for formal accountancy qualification.
