Salary: Grade 6 - £27,269 - £30,060
This is a casual position for 13 weeks a year, during school holidays.
This role will require you to assist the Strategic and Operation Play Officer to promote and establish working relationships with other PCC departments such as Social Services in order that we reach the correct children and young people for the provision, providing a comprehensive equitable short break play provision, to enhance disabled children and young people's personal, social and cognitive development.
You will be expected to prepare and deliver all holiday play scheme sessions; ensuring quality childcare is provided while offering a range of stimulating and safe activities.
Lead a team of play work staff and volunteers to provide play and support for our attendees, ensuring appropriate staffing levels at all times and managing all communication relating to this duty, including timely submission of all funds, paperwork, and sessional information to the line manager.
To ensure all policies, procedures, and paperwork in relation to the provision are kept up-to-date and current for parents/carers, children and young people, and staff. Regularly review all policies and procedures in accordance with the National Minimum Standards and Care Inspectorate Wales.
You will be expected to be qualified to a Level 3 or equivalent in childcare and play work. You should have enthusiasm for training and personal development. Previous experience of working with children/young people with additional learning needs is required. You should have experience of engaging and consulting with children, parents, and carers, as well as knowledge of short break provision. Experience of carrying out a supervisory role and evidence of effective time management, planning, and organization is essential. You must be able to work in partnership with other teams and organizations, work as part of a cohesive team, and have the ability to influence, motivate, and coordinate a staff and volunteer base. Experience of working with administrative and IT processes is necessary. A sensitive approach to data protection and confidentiality is also required.
