About Regulatory & Compliance and the Role With a focus on brand & consumer protection, the Regulatory & Compliance function plays a critical role in ensuring that MyProtein food and food supplement products can be marketed and sold legally all over the world. Based at our ICON Head Office in Manchester, this role offers the opportunity to contribute to the global success of market leading brands. As Senior Raw Materials Compliance Officer – THG Nutrition & Wellness brands, you will be responsible for upholding product compliance across our, together with a small team of product compliance officers. Working with our supplier base, you will validate raw material and co-manufactured product data, including finished product nutrition, ingredients and dietary suitability information meet all mandatory regulatory requirements for all markets where sold. You will play a critical role in the product innovation and renovation process, completing senior sign off compliance checks to make sure all our raw materials are legal, compliant and of the highest quality as expected of our trusted brands. Reporting to the Senior Compliance Manager, you will be part of a wider team of regulatory and compliance experts working across a wide portfolio of products and raw materials covering UK, EU, GCC, US and ANZ markets. Responsibilities: Support compliance team, technical and procurement teams in risk assessing raw materials and facilitating discussions with suppliers as required. Understanding and applying all relevant THG and legal standards to raw materials and co-manufactured products. Responsible for the continued review and management of raw material governance procedures, regulation requirements and updates. Leading on Master spec project to develop a portfolio of master specs for all raw material categories used in the business to support procurement buying requirements and upholding the quality of THG’s raw materials to the highest standards. Leading on all raw material-based projects requested by the business. Develop relationships with suppliers to drive improvements, lead and manage suppliers where engagement is required. Establish a strong working relationship within the Supply Quality Assurance, Technical teams, and Procurement teams. Responsible for the continued review and management of raw material governance procedures. Championing THG specification management system with suppliers and stakeholders. Housekeeping on specification management system to ensure all functions are used optimally. Responsible for raw material non conformances investigating and completing root cause analysis, issuing corrective and preventative actions. Supporting site manufacturing and finished product senior requirements as requested. Ensuring that product inaccuracies found during raw material review are raised in the appropriate manner to the relevant manager/senior team member immediately. Managing workflows and workload driven by Procurement, Supplier Quality Assurance, New Product Development. Working with Quality, Supplier Quality Assurance and Regulatory to manage implications of changing raw materials in existing products, tenders and expiring specs. Managing NPD workflows from a Compliance perspective by ensuring product launches meet deadlines Continuously looking into process efficiency and optimisation across all raw material processes and systems. Working with the Senior Compliance Officers to set and manage KPIs for the entire team and team members, setting objectives and putting personal development plans in place. Promote continuous improvement across Regulatory & Compliance activities and uphold regulatory policy, process, and Regulatory Governance best practice. Develop and roll out training to update internal/external stakeholders highlighting changes to raw material regulatory and compliance requirements. Monitor and maintain day to day priorities and effectively manage workload to deliver against business and departmental targets. Support on internal audits as requested Requirements: Degree qualification or equivalent relevant training to support applied technical knowledge of global regulatory requirements. At least 5 years previous experience in food industry specification management or regulatory affairs in UK or EU markets. A strong working knowledge of raw materials across a variety of areas. Experience with UK / EU food / food supplement legislation essential. Experience in additional markets ideal. Able to work efficiently in a fast paced commercial environment with a high level of resilience and ability to handle complexity. Ambitious, motivated, meticulous, and capable of driving results and taking responsibility. Ability and willingness to partner effectively with cross-functional teams leveraging strong collaboration and communication skills Good IT literacy particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Planner.
