Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Assistant Estates Surveyor to join Nottingham City Council on an initial 3-6 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.\n\nThe Role:\n\n * To undertake estates management and associated duties as required supporting, and under the direction of, senior colleagues\n\n * To assist in the inspection and measurement of property as required producing simple line drawings and succinct inspection notes\n\n * Assisting with the disposal and development of identified properties to secure capital receipts and/or regeneration objectives\n\n * Assist generally in the effective estate management of property which the Council controls including reading meters, undertaking fire alarm tests, routine inspections etc.\n\n * To assist qualified staff with property transactions and under supervision to prepare basic valuations for all purposes and to undertake routine negotiations\n\n * Assist throughout the process of marketing Council owned property, to respond to enquiries, to communicate with and accompany members of the public and prospective tenants to view properties.\n\nRequirements:\n\n * Previous experience of working in a Estates role\n\n * Ability to write detailed property notes, clear and succinct reports and make simple but intelligible line drawings.\n\n * Ability to understand terms relating to the letting of property, including the interpretation of tenancies/leases from documents and computer terminal.\n\n * Ability to organise and undertake fire alarm tests.\n\n * Practical experience of property management and maintenance of non-domestic buildings.\n\n * Ability and willingness to visit and inspect property.\n\nIf this role would be of interest to you, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible
