We are supporting on a Data Protection/Compliance Officer opportunity at an esteemed educational institution in achieving compliance across a wide range of areas, including data protection, safeguarding, governance, and health and safety. Key Responsibilities: Provide guidance and training on regulatory compliance. Collaborate with internal departments (e., HR, IT, Health & Safety) to ensure adherence to relevant legislation. Monitor and address compliance vulnerabilities, developing corrective action plans. Stay updated on regulatory changes and proactively implement necessary adjustments. Manage and maintain policies, ensuring they remain current and effective. Oversee risk management processes and monitor risk-related activities. Handle data protection matters, including responding to subject access requests and conducting privacy impact assessments. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent qualification would be preferred. Advanced knowledge of data protection laws (e., GDPR). Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and adept at report writing. Ability to work independently and within a team.
