Maintenance Engineer Manager Required!
BE Recruitment are seeking an experienced Engineering and Maintenance Team Lead to join our client who manufacture within the adhesive market. Based in Thurmaston, Leicester (LE4). You will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence by developing a skilled, engaged workforce capable of achieving uptime, safety, and productivity targets essential for our business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead a multi-site engineering and maintenance team, driving safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
2. Ensure zero accidents and adherence to safety regulations and permits.
3. Achieve plant availability and performance targets, meeting PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) standards.
4. Drive energy usage reduction through optimisation and defined projects.
5. Deliver strategic projects on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.
6. Complete RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and up-skill the department across multiple sites.
7. Conduct appraisals, employee satisfaction surveys, and manage departmental budgets.
8. Ensure compliance with regulations such as ATEX and LOLER, and manage all health and safety aspects of the plant and equipment.
Key Performance Measurements:
1. Zero accidents & near misses.
2. Full compliance with regulations affecting plant, equipment, and maintenance.
3. Achieve targets for plant availability and PPM completion.
4. Reduce energy usage and manage the successful delivery of strategic projects.
5. Improve team performance through training, development, and employee engagement.
Main Requirements:
1. Strong leadership with a proven track record in managing and developing teams.
2. Extensive knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
3. Demonstrable experience leading engineering and maintenance teams across multiple sites.
4. Excellent project management and communication skills.
5. Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and the ability to prepare processes to meet customer service outcomes.
6. Capable of identifying and mitigating risks related to service, quality, health & safety, and finances.
7. Ability to lead capital investment projects from proposal to completion.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Lead and implement a long-term engineering strategy that supports business growth.
2. Maintain safety standards, ensure compliance with all regulations, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
3. Ensure plant availability by managing preventive maintenance schedules and spare part inventories.
4. Oversee facilities management, including utilities, waste disposal, and property maintenance.
5. Manage budgets, update performance KPIs, and maintain data integrity through CMMS systems.
Key Skills:
1. Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
2. Skilled in project management and the use of problem-solving techniques.
3. Strong knowledge of TPM (Total Preventive Maintenance) and energy management.
4. Computer literate with experience in CMMS systems.
Hours & Pay:
£50,000 - £55,000. 40 hour working week - weekly rotations - covering earliers, lates & nights. 31 Days annual leave - inclusive of bank holidays. Company sick pay. Health cash plan. Comprehensive training and support to help you succeed.
