Job Title: Projects QA Lead Reports to: Projects Quality and Control Manager Location: UK and Ireland Job Purpose: Be responsible for the day to day management of the Projects QA/QC process, and drive continuous improvement within the projects department. Scope: We are seeking a highly motivated Projects QA Lead to join our team in the construction/energy industry. The Project QA Lead will play a key role in ensuring that our construction projects adhere to all technical and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction and a strong understanding of quality assurance and quality control principles. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment. This is a full-time, permanent position based from our Knowsley office. We do offer a hybrid scope of work with 1-2 days per week in the office. Travel across the UK will be required with some international travel. The working hours are 37.5 hours, 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Role and Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance procedures through the design process and lifecycle of a construction project. Work on a portfolio of projects at any one time. Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards. Review project plans and specifications to identify potential quality issues. Review contract specifications and client requirements and ensure that the design, programme and sequencing of works are compliant. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop solutions to quality issues. Prepare and maintain QA/QC documentation, including inspection reports, test plans, and quality control procedures. Provide training to project and design teams on quality procedures and standards. Conduct root cause analysis and identify corrective actions to address non-conformances. Essential HNC or a Degree in Engineering or related field. 5 years of experience in construction quality assurance and quality control. Knowledge of construction principles and processes. Experience with industry-specific software. Ability to interpret and analyse technical drawings and specifications. Strong communication and leadership skills. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Attention to detail and ability to work independently and prioritise tasks. Keep accurate documentation. CSCS card holder Good understanding of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental issues. Good IT skills – Word, Excel and Microsoft Project and ability to learn proprietary software packages. Willingness to travel to site with the occasional overnight stay as and when required. Good understanding of both Civil and Mechanical Engineering. Awareness of Project Management approaches and general tools utilised to run a complex project portfolio.
