Job Title: Personal Care Teaching Assistant Location: Bracknell Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Term Time only 4 Inset Days Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Teaching Assistant to join our team in Bracknell. The role involves providing in-class support for an identified individual student, assisting with their physical and educational needs, and ensuring their well-being and progress. Key Responsibilities: Provide in-class support for an identified individual student, assisting in their academic and personal development. Under the direction of the class teacher, model effective practices to accelerate the student’s progress. Assist with the physical well-being of the student under the guidance of the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator). Be familiar with the student’s care plan and provide care, encouragement, and maintain their dignity. Support the student with personal care needs and medical difficulties as required. Supervise the student during break and lunchtime. Offer regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCO, providing data and information for Annual Review paperwork or other relevant documentation. Engage in personal development to enhance subject knowledge and teaching methods. Communicate effectively with the student’s parent(s) as appropriate. Collaborate with external bodies or individuals outside the school when necessary. Actively participate in the Performance Management process. Engage in whole-school and departmental professional learning programmes.Requirements: Experience or background in supporting students with personal care needs is preferred. Ability to work effectively under the direction of both the class teacher and SENCO. Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise with parents and external professionals.
