Health & Safety Advisor Location: Near Ackton, Pontefract Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 DOE Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Our client, a growing facilities management business, is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join their team. This role is predominantly desk-based at their head office and will play a key role in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations across their operations. Role Overview: As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will support the facilities management and project teams by overseeing health and safety compliance, contractor documentation, and internal risk registers. You will also be responsible for coordinating accreditation applications and renewals while ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the day-to-day management of health and safety processes, ensuring all procedures, policies, and standards are up to date. Conduct and assist with risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for various building management activities. Manage subcontractor documentation and maintain a PQQ process for new suppliers. Review and update the company training matrix. Assist in the creation of Construction Phase Plans and project packs. Provide guidance on health and safety plans for new and ongoing projects. Support third-party accreditation audits as part of an annual program. Monitor compliance, identify areas of risk, and advise management on corrective actions. Stay updated on legislative changes and industry best practices through training, seminars, and webinars. Promote a safety-first culture, engaging with employees across all business functions. Ensure compliance with fire safety requirements and other regulatory obligations. Qualifications & Experience: Required: NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent). NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate. Proven experience in health and safety coordination within property management, facilities management, or a related sector. Desirable: First Aid certification. Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and regulations. Ability to conduct risk assessments and root cause analysis. Excellent communication skills for training delivery and report writing. A proactive, hands-on approach with a keen eye for detail. Benefits: Competitive salary (£35,000 - £45,000 DOE).
