Job Title: Estimator/Senior Estimator
Willmott Dixon are looking to recruit an Estimator/Senior Estimator to join our Wales & West region, working out of our Bristol office. Whilst your base will be in Bristol, you will be supported to work in a hybrid way with 1 day a week working from home.
Reporting to the Principal Estimator, the successful candidate will work as part of our preconstruction team to manage commercial activities with a high degree of acumen while identifying opportunities to add value throughout the project process.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To manage commercial activities with a high degree of acumen.
2. To identify opportunities to add value throughout the project process.
3. To identify risks and input into project risk register.
4. To price selected trades from first principles.
5. To lead the supply chain enquiry process.
6. To produce a detailed control document at handover to the delivery team.
7. To conduct their role in a way which is consistent with the company’s sustainability objectives.
8. To complete project take-offs.
9. To lead and prepare the complete commercial and pricing element of a tender or cost plan.
10. To prepare whole life costing analysis.
11. To prepare the preconstruction element of the project waste management plan.
12. To constantly reinforce and deliver our customer first ethic through successful bid and personal performance.
Requirements
Essential Criteria:
1. Successful delivery of tenders on a wide range of projects.
2. Experience of various construction methods.
3. Experience of controlling costs, timing, and quality in line with targets.
4. Experience of reading and accurately interpreting drawings and technical specifications.
5. Good standard of mathematical ability.
Desirable Criteria:
1. Minimum relevant level 4 qualification (HNC/NVQ4 etc).
2. Relevant degree.
3. Use of Conquest Estimating System or similar.
4. Experience of taking off quantities up to SMM 7.
5. Working towards MCIOB/RICS.
