We are seeking a skilled and experienced Head of HR to provide leadership and support to our UK HR Business Partner team of 4 while temporarily stepping in to cover some responsibilities of the Group HR Director during maternity leave. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to strategic and operational HR activities, manage vital HR projects, and play a key role in driving our people agenda. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer (CPO), the Head of HR will manage day-to-day HR operations, support the HR Business Partner team, and act as the primary point of contact for HR-related initiatives. A significant aspect of this role involves ensuring continuity and smooth functioning of the Group HR Director’s remit during their leave, including involvement in strategic decision-making and cross-functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities: Maternity Cover for Group HR Director: Temporarily oversee responsibilities typically managed by the Group HR Director, ensuring seamless leadership and execution of strategic HR initiatives during their leave. Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and mentor the HR Business Partner team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality support to business units. Strategic Support: Partner closely with the CPO and senior leaders to align HR strategy with organisational goals, while maintaining operational excellence. Project Management: Oversee and deliver key HR projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with company objectives and timelines, including regulatory projects. Operational Oversight: Act as a go-to senior manager for HR-related queries, providing expert guidance on policy interpretation, employee relations, performance management, and other HR matters. Change Management: Support the organisation through periods of transformation by implementing effective change management strategies. Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with senior leaders and managers, offering trusted advice and support to help them achieve their goals while upholding company values. Process and Policy Management: Continuously review and enhance HR processes to drive efficiency, compliance, and employee satisfaction. Data and Insights: Use HR analytics to inform decision-making and provide recommendations that contribute to both business and people success. Requirements What can you bring to the table? Just have a look below, if this sounds like you it’s definitely worth putting yourself forward: Proven experience as a HR Business Partner ready to take a step into a management role or in a senior HR leadership role, ideally with experience covering for senior HR leaders. Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams. Exceptional project management and organisational abilities, with the capability to manage competing priorities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence and engage stakeholders across all levels. Comprehensive understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment law. Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and operational execution. Experience in complex HR matters, including acquisitions and TUPE. Discretion and integrity in handling sensitive matters.
