We are an Ofsted registered supported accommodation provider in Wakefield. Our newly opened Children's Home in Wakefield (West Yorkshire) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Manager who is open to becoming a Registered Manager within a year. The ideal candidate should currently be enrolled in or hold a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management in Childcare and have at least 2 years of experience in a residential children's home. Key Responsibilities:
* Leadership and Management: Oversee all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the home with enthusiasm and a hands-on approach, applying your in-depth knowledge and skills. Must be available to get the company through Ofsted registration.
* Residential Care: Ensure the well-being and safety of children and young people within the home, providing guidance, support, and mentorship during the daytime hours, with a profound understanding of best practices in health and social care.
* Regulatory Compliance: Maintain and monitor compliance with all relevant regulations and standards in the care sector, turning regulatory requirements into opportunities for innovation.
* Staff Development: Lead, train, and support a team of dedicated care professionals, fostering a collaborative environment where everyone's ideas and contributions are valued.
* Financial Management: Manage the budget for the home and explore creative ways to enhance the quality of care and services.
* Communication: Establish and maintain effective communication channels with young people, their families, staff, and external stakeholders.
* Quality Assurance: Continuously strive for excellence in care provision, implementing quality assurance processes and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* Level 5 Qualification: A Level 5 qualification in ChildCare and Leadership and Management is required.
* Experience: At least 2 years of proven experience in a leadership role within a residential care setting, ideally with young people.
* Strong Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with young people, their families, and professionals.
* Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of care professionals.
* Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the relevant regulations and standards governing residential care for young people.
* Passion: A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
