A world leader in the design, manufacture and installation of seismic instrumentation used in seismology research, oil and gas exploration and production is looking to recruit an Instrument Technician to assemble and build up components to create complex equipment. This role requires someone with strong Electro-Mechanical experience and qualities.
The company engages in a wide variety of engineering disciplines ranging from intricate mechanical design challenges requiring micron level accuracy to large-scale mechanical systems, electronics, and software. The company is on a sustained growth path and is looking for highly motivated individuals to join our growing team.
OBJECTIVES
The role of the Instrument Technician will be to assemble and build up the component parts to make quality products fit for purpose, efficiently and consistently. They will support the Production Managers and Product Specialists to ensure the timely delivery of our products.
DUTIES
The role will involve:
1. Accurately following both documented and verbal instructions to build complex equipment to high quality;
2. Mechanical small parts assembly, following clean handling processes;
3. Electrical & electronic assembly, including soldering, wiring, crimping, etc;
4. Complying with established manufacturing systems and quality processes;
5. Identifying opportunities to improve quality and efficiency;
6. Other duties as required.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Desirable:
1. A good understanding of mechanical assembly processes;
2. Experience of working within a production/manufacturing environment;
3. Reasonable computer literacy;
4. Experience using ERP systems, especially Epicor E10.
