We are looking for a Financial Controller to join a thriving Family-Run Construction Company based in Portsmouth with an outstanding reputation, recognized as a trusted go-to main contractor. You will be overseeing all financial operations including subcontractor accounts, VAT returns, budgeting, forecasting, and more.
Salary and Hours
Up to £55,000 per annum
Mon - Fri
08.30 - 5.00pm
Responsibilities
1. You will collaborate with the business to ensure timely invoice issuance.
2. Oversee the debt collection process to guarantee prompt customer payments.
3. Carry out quarterly VAT returns as well as HMRC queries and CIS returns.
4. Manage Payroll, taxes, and other employee-related finances.
5. Produce and manage budgets & cash flow forecasts.
6. Track and oversee the company's financial performance in comparison to the budget and forecasts, delivering regular reports to management.
Requirements
1. Accounting qualification ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
2. Proven track record as a Financial Controller/Manager ideally within a construction background.
3. Strong knowledge of CIS and VAT returns.
4. Confident using financial software and Microsoft Office.
5. Great attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
