Our client, a very large food manufacturing company, requires a Company Accountant to join the team at their Head Office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a newly qualified accountant looking to take the leap from practice into the industry sector.
You will possess a strong knowledge of IFRS as well as audit, fixed asset accounting, and balance sheet reconciliations. You will be working with colleagues across the Group as well as the Shared Finance Centre to ensure the timely and accurate submission of the monthly reporting process for headquarter companies.

Role Responsibilities:
* Ensure accurate and complete accounting entries by working with colleagues, reviewing journals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Confidently prepare journals.
* Focus on financial reporting, banking, financing, intercompany reconciliations, prepayments, accruals, capex, and tax.
* Support shared finance centre, tax, and treasury teams.
* Complete financial controls per Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).
* Prepare monthly reporting packs and head office statutory accounts (FRS 101).
* Assist with Group IFRS quarterly and annual financial reporting, including consolidation of journals, disclosures, and technical accounting papers.
* Contribute to annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
* Support projects impacting financial reporting, such as acquisition accounting, refinancing, share repurchase, restructuring, and systems migration to S/4 HANA.
* Liaise with internal and external auditors.
* Participate in finance and accounting projects to better utilize systems.
* Assist other teams and handle ad-hoc tasks for the Financial Reporting Group and stakeholders (e.g., auditors, treasury, FP&A, tax, legal, Companies House, ONS, subsidiary accounts review).
Requirements:
* Chartered accountancy qualification, pqe desirable.
* Audit experience with varied clients.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Self-starter and ‘can do’ attitude.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
* Confident user of Excel, Word, and finance software desirable.
