Summary Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a Plant Quality Engineer to manage different cadences, KPIs & standard Lean Manufacturing tools to achieve Customer & Production Quality objectives. Supporting the implementation and maintenance of quality systems and procedures to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF16949, and any customer-specific requirements. Supporting, identifying, and implementing specific focussed ‘Quality Improvement Programmes’ to deliver year-on-year quality improvements, utilising relevant tools and techniques with a zero-defect mindset. Helping to drive for PPAP completion and sign-off. Developing control plans for all levels of projects. Regularly audit production processes and work instruction, highlighting non-conformances and drive rectification activities. Supporting APQP activities. Supporting all New Project Introduction and continuous improvement activities striving towards zero defect and a flawless launch, including (but not limited to) DFMA, dimensional strategy and drawing reviews, feasibility studies, DFMEA/PFMEA reviews, process flow generation, DVP planning, build phase support, lessons learnt, etc. Leading investigation of quality issues to identify root cause and complete appropriate corrective action paperwork, ensuring issues are addressed and resolved. Involvement in change management and design for assembly/manufacture. Taking part in customer/supplier visits and audits as required. Analysis and reporting of customer returns/rejections in line with internal KPIs and customer expectation. Delivering annual objectives set by the Quality Manager. Additional duties that may be required as determined by the company. To succeed in this role, we believe you'll need: A HNC/Degree in an Engineering discipline (or equivalent) Experience gained in a manufacturing quality or supply chain quality environment, preferably in high-volume manufacturing. Previous line management experience. Experience with Quality Improvement Programmes, Pareto, PFMEA, 5s, 6 Sigma or similar continuous improvement tools. Experience in the use of APQP tools and techniques (including FMEA and Control Plans). Experience in the use of statistical analysis, process capability and problem resolution tools (8D, 5 Why, 6 Sigma etc.) and techniques. Experience with internal and external audits. Knowledge of IATF and VDA Process Audit. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Full UK driver’s license.
