The Company:
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Product Developer/Technologist to join our growing team, working with our suppliers to bring tech packs to life. You will work alongside our in-house Design and Garment Technology team to realise the designer’s vision to first sample stage.
The Role:
* Manage the Critical Path from design brief to product launch, ensuring all areas are engaged in the process.
* Bringing commercial awareness and supplier knowledge to the rest of the product team.
* Work with GT re size specs and ensure comments are sent in a timely manner.
* Interact frequently with factories and mills through site visits or video calls.
* Coordinate daily communication with all suppliers re samples and new developments.
* Working with the Design & Technical team to ensure the samples are checked, approved & correctly labelled and stored.
* Liaising with factories to chase in lab dips, strike offs, samples etc. and checking submissions alongside senior members of the team.
* Setting up new lines on the system, liaising with Design, and Merchandise Managers to ensure the correct information is input.
* Liaising with factory to update on products and negotiating margins.
* Manage the sample process and be aware of any costs incurred.
* Managing development costs for sampling, couriers etc.
* Look for cost savings within the department and make recommendations.
Skills Required:
* 2-3 years as a PD for a women’s brand or retailer
* Knowledge of Excel, Adobe Illustrator and PowerPoint.
* Experience working with and factories overseas where English is not 1st language.
* Happy to travel overseas when required.
* Good with people management.
* Experience in pricing structure and product costings/negotiation.
* Good commercial perspective & creativity skills.
* Strong organizational & time management skills.
* Key understanding of garment construction
* Demonstrate a pro-active approach to problem solving.
* Experience in a fast-paced environment.
* Flexible and open to evolving business needs and priorities.
* Enthusiasm for the product we are designing and manufacturing.
