We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician/Plant Fitter to join our team at a busy operation in the Burton-on-Trent area. The role involves working as part of a small maintenance team and supporting the commissioning and ongoing maintenance of a new state-of-the-art Material Recovery Facility (MRF). The ideal candidate will live within 30 minutes of the depots or be willing to relocate.
Key Skills and Qualifications
* Proven experience maintaining heavy plant and machinery; experience with waste and recycling equipment is advantageous.
* Welding skills are a plus.
* Reliable, hardworking, and proactive mindset.
* Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
* Industry-recognized certifications and time-served expertise.
Responsibilities
* Maintenance and repair of heavy plant machinery such as shredders, crushers, screeners, trommels, and loading shovels.
* Performing regular inspections, servicing, and ensuring equipment is safe and operational, including part fitting and adjustments.
* Diagnosing faults using computer-based diagnostic tools.
* Utilizing hand and power tools, welding equipment, and electrical testing tools.
* Repairing or replacing components, reassembling machinery, and conducting functionality tests.
* Completing daily maintenance logs, recording work carried out and time spent.
