Creative Technology and Expressive Arts Technician – Full-Time – Cheadle – Secondary School
Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Cheadle to recruit a full-time Technician to support the Creative Technology and Expressive Arts departments. This is a key support role within the school, providing vital assistance to teachers and students across subjects including Art, Design Technology, Drama, and Music.
The successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring lessons run smoothly by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and helping to create a safe, creative, and stimulating learning environment.
Start Date: ASAP or by arrangement
Contract Type: Full-time, Term-Time Only
Location: Cheadle, Greater Manchester
Pay: £89 - £100 per day depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the practical and technical aspects of lessons in Art, DT (including Food and Resistant Materials), Drama, and Music
* Prepare, maintain, and safely store tools, instruments, resources, and equipment
* Assist with the setting up and dismantling of practical lessons, rehearsals, and performances
* Ensure all workspaces and equipment meet health and safety standards
* Provide technical support for school events, exhibitions, and performances where needed
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support student learning and creativity
* Maintain an inventory of materials and place orders when required
The Ideal Candidate Will:
* Have previous experience working in a school or workshop/creative environment (desirable but not essential)
* Be confident using a range of creative tools, digital equipment, and technologies
* Have good organisational and time management skills
* Show initiative and be willing to learn new skills
* Understand and apply safe working practices
* Be enthusiastic about supporting young people and creative education
