Thomas Sherriff has an exciting opportunity for a motivated Ag Sales Professional or Trainee in the Central region of our business. We are looking for an individual to grow our Agricultural sales at our Jedburgh Outlet, selling market leading brands including John Deere, Kuhn Farm Machinery, Kramer telehandlers & loaders, Dal-Bo, Stewart Agriculture & Ifor Williams.
The successful candidate should be a forward-thinking individual, preferably with knowledge of modern agricultural machinery and farming practices. Good IT skills are essential to use all of the sales tools available, including a comprehensive Customer Relationship Management system. Knowledge of the local area would be beneficial. We offer a very competitive salary, sales commission, a company car, and a pension scheme.
Responsibilities:
* Represent the Dealership in selling machinery to customers in a defined sales area.
* Follow all sales process steps to achieve high sales performance using available sales tools from John Deere.
* Maintain current product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment and services offered by the dealership, and attend relevant sales training events.
* Stay informed about financing options to assist customers in purchasing new and used equipment.
* Monitor competitor activity and communicate insights to sales management via CRM.
* Conduct field demonstrations.
* Manage goods delivery and follow-up according to Customer Care processes.
* Build strong and loyal relationships with customers in the sales area.
* Monitor trends in customers’ business activities and communicate findings to management in a timely manner.
* Collaborate with Sales Specialists when necessary.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Preferably 1+ years of equipment sales experience, though full training will be provided.
* Good knowledge of agricultural equipment and farming practices is preferred.
* Ability to use standard computer applications, internet functions, and sales tools.
* Familiarity with John Deere and competitive products.
* Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports.
* Excellent customer relationship skills.
* Willingness to work extended hours.
* High integrity and honesty with a positive attitude.
