Leonardo Helicopters are currently recruiting for a B2 Engineer, working within the Civil Flight team, within our Aircraft Services department, based on-site at our Yeovil base. The main purpose of your role, will be to undertake and certify scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on a range of civil aircrafts (including; AW109, AW139, AW189 and AW169), in accordance with Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and European Aviation Safety Regulations (EASA.)
The Aircraft Services department provides aircraft maintenance expertise, advice and support to our customers and end users. Situated in our UK Customer Support and Training Division, whose main focus is supporting an extensive in-service helicopter fleet operated by many clients worldwide, including some of the most technologically advanced helicopters in the world.
Please note that this role is a JFF L6 (internal only.)
1. Carrying out scheduled maintenance scheduled and unscheduled maintenance ensure this maintenance is carried out on time with the approved schedule.
2. Hourly and calendar based scheduled maintenance carried out in accordance with approved maintenance programme and OEM aircraft data.
3. Unscheduled maintenance in accordance with OEM aircraft data.
4. Trouble shooting and rectify aircraft defects in accordance with approved aircraft data.
5. Inspection, removal and installation of avionic aircraft systems.
6. Supervise civil flight technicians when required.
7. Mentor Civil Flight trainee certifying engineers.
8. Work at offsite locations in support of aircraft on ground (AOG.)
9. Investigating and understanding human factors and the potential effects of human error, safety management system and raising Voluntary Occurrence Reports when necessary.
10. Must have an aeronautical apprenticeship or service equivalent trade training.
11. Must hold (as a minimum) a type rated CAA issued part 66 maintenance license in category B2.
12. Have a previous experience working with the following aircraft; AW139 or AW189.
13. Experience working with civil aircrafts, and extensive experience within a helicopter maintenance environment.
14. Be familiar in the use of; wiring diagrams, serial numbers, breakdown procedures, work instructions, service bulletins, technical logs, manufacturer’s maintenance data and maintenance programmes.
15. A strong understanding of CAA and EASA (Part; 145, 66 and M) regulations.
16. Must be conversant with CAA CAP publications.
17. Flexibility to travel, at short notice, to a number of different locations both nationally and internationally.
