WGM Engineering have an excellent opportunity for a Workshop Supervisor to join our Engineering solutions team based in Glasgow on a permanent basis. The overall purpose of the role is to develop and implement an ongoing delivery programme throughout the ES business streams and associated activity. Project positive change and transformation throughout ES and develop staff in engineering and repair techniques and strategy. Implement change metrics and KPIs to support and develop activities.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
* To always work safely
* Embrace the WGM values and install the same within change programmes
* Creating a monthly reporting dashboard detailing KPIs
* Effectively and efficiently manage change techniques
* Work with Delivery Management to create a focus around job priorities and ES objectives
* Closely align the ES standards to the WGM Quality objectives
* Responsibility for creating best practices across the business stream
* Support team in determining the optimum approach to work execution and provide operational guidance on more complex activities where necessary
* Communicate and liaise with other business stream managers and functions regarding forward work projection
* Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions
* Produce written reports and make presentations
* Manage, coach, and develop teams that meet agreed objectives, and which deliver best practice results, added value, and continuous improvements
* Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required
* Accountable for the day-to-day safe supervision of individuals
* Accountable for the control of dedicated resource scheduling
* Responsible for ensuring all weekly and monthly deadlines are met
* Responsible for promoting and encouraging a safety-first culture within the department and all other responsibilities relevant to the role, as defined in the WGM Safety Management Manual
* Responsible for the continued development of personnel
* Responsible for the continued development of work programmes and equipment
* Responsible for the standards of workmanship carried out in the Service Centre
* Responsible for work quality across all tasks
* Assist with department budgetary control
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position you will have at least 2-3 years previous experience within a similar engineering management type role. The ideal candidate will have excellent man management skills. Previous experience within an ATEX repair facility is a must. You must possess a full UK drivers license as travel is essential.
